Shawarma King is a family run business specializing in Shawarma and Falafel. We offer various delicious menu items, vegetarian and non, including seasonal and specialty items, such as kabob and homemade stuffed grape leaves.

The Story

After coming to Washington, DC from Bethlehem, the owners, Afaf and Butros, noticed a lack of authentic specialty Shawarma shops. Married for 30 years, they had a dream to open a specialty shawarma and falafel restaurant. With a college degree in Food Science and a love for grilling, the Science teacher, Butros, and his wife, Afaf, also a teacher, set out to bring the perfect Shawarma, Falafel, and Kabobs to DC in 3 simple, foundational steps:

1. Import authentic Shawarma and Falafel spices for their signature items.

2. Permission to use an original Falafel recipe from the oldest restaurant in Bethlehem with a Shawarma King's special touch.

3. Combine their love for cooking with the science of crafting a perfect and healthy meal!

The result ... delicious Shawarma, Falafel and Kabob with a taste of Bethlehem... right in DC!
